Rotatory Clinical Internship Program (2025–2026)

Eklavya Dental College and Hospital offers a comprehensive rotatory clinical internship program for the regular 2025–2026 batch. The mandatory program spans twelve months, officially commencing on November 21, 2025, and concluding on November 20, 2026.

Rotatory Schedule & Structure

To ensure dedicated mentorship and optimal patient exposure, the cohort of 43 interns is divided into 11 distinct groups, labeled as Batches A through K. These batches follow a strictly structured matrix across eight core dental departments. To maintain a balanced clinical workflow, interns transition to their next clinical posting on the 21st of every month.

Department-Wise Timings & Clinical Scope

The rotational timings allocate either one or two months per department to appropriately align with standard clinical requirements and practical training goals.

  • Oral Surgery: This department has a rotatory duration of two months. Interns spend this time mastering minor oral surgeries, routine extractions, pain management, and handling acute dental emergencies.
  • Conservative Dentistry: Scheduled for a two-month posting. Interns focus heavily on endodontic therapy, root canal treatments, and completing direct and indirect aesthetic restorations.
  • Prosthodontics: This rotation lasts for two months. It allows interns to manage the rehabilitation of missing teeth, focusing on complete and partial removable prostheses, crown and bridge preparations, and essential laboratory procedures.
  • Periodontics: Allocated a two-month duration. The posting centers on the diagnosis and treatment of supporting tooth structures, requiring interns to perform extensive scaling, root planing, and assist in periodontal flap surgeries.
  • Oral Medicine and Radiology (OMR): This is a one-month clinical posting. Interns dedicate this time to frontline patient diagnosis, comprehensive history taking, identifying oral mucosal lesions, and mastering intraoral and extraoral radiographic techniques.
  • Paedodontics: Scheduled for one month. Clinical training involves specialized pediatric behavior management, restorations for primary dentition, and preventive therapies such as pit and fissure sealants.
  • Orthodontics: This rotation spans one month. The focus introduces interns to malocclusion management, interceptive orthodontics, cephalometric tracings, and the fabrication of removable orthodontic appliances.
  • Community Dentistry: Scheduled as a one-month outreach posting. Interns coordinate dental health camps, conduct epidemiological surveys, and promote public oral health education across diverse demographics.
